Established in 2011, Boston Brewing Co. is one of the first breweries in the Great Southern Region, located near the Castelli Estate winery. AER approached the owners of Boston Brewery in 2018 to understand their electricity requirements and develop a proposal for reducing running costs using solar power. The installed 100 kW system uses innovative electronics at the solar panels, known as optimisers, which counteract some of the impacts of shading that the established trees near the brewery will cast at different times.
