Luca Castelli – Managing Director

B.Eng (Hons) Power/Electrical Engineering, B.Eng (Hons) Renewable Energy Engineering, B.Sc (Energy Studies), Member: Institution of Engineers Australia (Electrical)

Luca has almost 15 years of energy industry experience (Retail and Generation) in Western Australia including the development of multiple renewable energy projects from concept to commissioning.

He is the key driver behind AER’s projects and provides detailed technical and commercial management and oversight from project concept through to commissioning and operations. Since AER was founded in 2006, he has developed a 20MW renewable energy development portfolio and overseen the commissioning of 6MW of wind and solar capacity.

Further to Luca’s technical capabilities, his detailed understanding of WA’s electricity market spans a multitude of areas including generation, retail, wholesale markets, regulation and compliance.

Aside from his involvement with AER, Luca is a board member of the Mt Barker Power Company (owner and operator of the 2.4MW Mt Barker Wind Farm) and provides commercial oversight of the Castelli Group’s winery and liquor wholesale operations.

Steve Wall – Business Development Manager

B.Bus (Marketing and Management)

Steve is AER’s Business Development Manager and has over 20 years’ experience in the energy industry as a Major Accounts Manager and Business Development Manager. Steve has held positions with several major utilities including fourteen years with Synergy/Western Power, three years at Integral Energy (Sydney) and three years as an energy consultant. His focus has been on large industrial and commercial electricity and gas users in negotiating complex electricity supply agreements and working with customers on energy management initiatives and power quality issues.

Steve is focused on AER’s new project development, electricity retail portfolio and the management of project stakeholder relationships.

Ed Blackley – Solar Business Manager

B.Comm (Accounting and Finance)

Ed has over 25 years of experience in the retail, manufacture and component distribution aspects of the solar PV industry. He has intimate knowledge of solar system design, modelling and financial analysis, and carries significant local and national experience in project development, and the project management and construction of both roof and ground mounted solar arrays. Ed previously managed a national solar distribution business with a team of industry specialists; a demanding role with rapidly changing technology, regulations and markets. His knowledge of and relationships within the international solar industry brings value to our customers through careful component selection, reliable and accurate system design and competitive pricing.
